evroc has announced it has selected Stockholm as the location for its flagship data centre. The company and Arlandastad Group presented a letter of intent for the centre to be built during 2024 and plans to invest €600 million over the coming years to develop the flagship facility.

Serving as a scaling platform for Europe’s first hyperscale cloud, the centre represents a critical milestone on the company’s path to operating 10 sustainable hyperscale data centres across Europe by 2030.

The company’s ambition is further to establish the facility as an epicentre for AI in Europe. At full capacity, the flagship data centre has been designed to contain 16,000 GPUs, more than can be found at any other single location anywhere in Europe.

“Today, Europe is entering a new era for cloud and the next phase of the AI revolution,” said Mattias Åström, Founder and CEO, evroc. “We want this flagship centre to become a landmark for sustainability, technology and architecture.”

evroc and Arlandastad Group signed an LOI with the intention to own and develop the property through a joint venture. The agreement establishes the flagship data centre in a location next to Stockholm Arlanda Airport. evroc selected the fast-growing innovation hub, Arlandastad, due to its strategic location between Stockholm City and Sweden’s biggest airport, as well as the availability of fossil-free energy to power the centre.
