1623 Farnam, a regional leader in network-neutral Edge interconnection and data centre services, has announced the completion of its generator deployment project.
The deployment, which began in June 2022 with the design of the custom noise-cancelling enclosures, now ensures the rich hyperscale connectivity and peering ecosystem at 1623 Farnam can benefit from an additional 3MW of usable power.
1623 Farnam has been experiencing ongoing expansion within its high value hyperscale peering ecosystem. The ecosystem, which features major technology leaders and robust regional hyperscale construction, is also demonstrating increased demands for robust connectivity from more than 60 carriers.
This data centre and IX site sits in a strategic, centralised spot in the US at the interconnection point for the country’s largest East/West and North/South routes, remaining at the centre of secure onramps to the world’s largest cloud providers. Furthermore, from its position in the heart of the US, 1623 Farnam delivers key advantages across local, regional, national and international connectivity, making it a powerful enabler for even the most demanding hyperscale networking needs. To meet these demands, 1623 Farnam continues to invest in its state-of-the-art facility.
“This generator deployment represents more than just a new equipment addition,” said Bill Severn, President and CEO at 1623 Farnam. “It represents our customers’ ability to meet their innovation requirements in a facility that truly listens, understands and provides solutions that work every time. Our ecosystem’s combined demands and aggressive IT goals are at the core of everything we do, and we know nothing moves forward in this digital world without power.
“This was a major project – after all, it took three cranes to set up the main crane for the generator lift – but we know the results our ecosystem can achieve with this addition are more than worth it. We’re excited to put this reliable, robust power to work.”
