Infrapartners, a leading AI turnkey data centre company, and construction technology company, XYZ Reality, have announced a partnership introducing an approach that fuses prefabrication with advanced Augmented Reality to deliver data centres globally – including in some of the most challenging locations such as Africa.
This collaboration sets a new standard for efficiency and accuracy in the construction industry.
Firstly, this innovative data centre project stands out due to its fully modular prefabrication approach, significantly reducing construction time, cost and the risk of errors.
The precision of prefabricated elements is pre-validated before arriving on-site, eliminating the complexities of on-site validation and guaranteeing seamless installation at the final destination.
The XYZ team is collaborating with Infrapartners from design through to on-site deployment. XYZ is providing factory accuracy validation to ensure the quality and speed of the modular components before they are shipped to the client site. This is crucial due to challenges such as local skilled labour shortages, the risk of potential delays once components arrive on-site and inconsistencies that can commonly occur during the build phase of a data centre.
By utilising XYZ Reality’s millimetre-accurate Augmented Reality to verify and assemble the modular components, Infrapartners ensure that everything is built right the first time without delays to accelerate time to revenue for the client.
The project’s success hinges on precision accuracy and coordination between the prefabricated modules and the existing on-site infrastructure. This is where XYZ Reality’s Atom headset plays a crucial role. By utilising Atom, Infrapartners can precisely review and proactively verify the construction of each individual module in the factory while simultaneously visualising the adjoining modules and existing services in Africa in 3D. This capability ensures accurate construction and seamless installation, providing unparalleled precision and efficiency.
Michalis Grigoratos, CEO at Infrapartners, said: “At Infrapartners, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of technology and using advanced leading-edge capabilities. We’ve developed a standardised, manufactured AI product for the data centre space, fundamentally changing the game in data centre construction.
“Partnering with XYZ Reality and utilising their technology marks a significant advancement for our company. The ability to visualise and verify every detail of the prefabricated modules in 3D before they even leave our factory is truly revolutionary.
“Since XYZ Reality joined our team on-site, the quality and accuracy has exceeded what we have seen in the industry in the past. We’ve leveraged their platform’s intelligence to track progress in real-time, allowing us to pay our workforce based on the precise percentage of work completed. This demonstrates the deep trust we place in XYZ’s technology,” added Grigoratos.
David Mitchell, Founder and CEO of XYZ Reality, said: “This project is monumental not just for InfraPartners and XYZ Reality, but for the entire data centre industry. By integrating our technology with InfraPartners’ expertise, we are setting a new standard for accuracy and efficiency in prefabricated construction. This collaboration is truly game-changing.”
The data centre project is poised to be a benchmark for future modular construction projects, showcasing the potential of combining prefabrication with advanced Augmented Reality technology.
