FNT Software, a leading provider of software solutions for the integrated management of IT, data centre and telecommunication infrastructures worldwide, has announced that it has been selected by DC BLOX to document and manage its data centre operations in facilities across the Southeast.

As a provider of multi-tenant data centres, dark fibre and connectivity solutions, DC BLOX will utilise FNT’s integrated platform FNT Command to operate with maximum efficiency and high availability.

To meet increasing demands for new digital services, DC BLOX required a centralised solution for data centre infrastructure management. Prior to selecting FNT Command, the data centre operator relied on manual tracking and project management tools to document all IT infrastructure.

Offering a web-based solution, FNT Command provides the capability to streamline processes and optimise the utilisation of data centre assets, including building infrastructure (power, cooling, floorspace), IT infrastructure (networks, servers, storage), connectivity (cables, patches) and services (software, applications). The platform offers comprehensive reporting and analytics, making it easy to monitor operations in real-time.

Through its flexible, application programming interface (API), FNT Command enables seamless integration with other third-party applications and systems.

The extensive library of ready-made function calls can be used to integrate virtually with every available software system. FNT Command’s web service-based integration allows systems to exchange data independently of platform, language and protocol. As a result, a wide range of options for running searches and queries as well as offering write access to FNT Command are available.

“We’re excited to work with DC BLOX and provide centralised monitoring, analytics and easy access to high-quality data through the FNT Command platform,” said Steve MacDiarmid, Executive Managing Director of FNT Americas. “As DC BLOX continues to expand, they will be well-equipped to support new data centres and increased connectivity.”

“Our infrastructure enables businesses to succeed in today’s digital economy, therefore it’s crucial for us to partner with world-class providers who enable us to operate with high availability and efficiency,” said Mark Sprouse, Vice President of Cloud Engineering and Infrastructure at DC BLOX. “The decision to utilise FNT Command was easy – it’s a scalable solution that makes it easy to manage resources and meet growing demands as we expand.”

DC BLOX’s data centres are located in Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Huntsville, AL; Chattanooga, TN; Greenville, SC; and soon in Myrtle Beach, SC. Most recently, FNT assisted DC BLOX with a new cable landing station in Myrtle Beach, SC which is expected to open in the second quarter of 2023.
